Trainspotting - On the Road

#1

Post by hunslet »

Many railway items, Locos, rolling stock and even buildings are transported by road.
It might be interesting to add any sightings on this post - not too detailed to distract from driving, just what it is and the approximate location.
To start off , when coming back from Birmingham on a bus along the Aston Expressway yesterday I spotted a Chocolate and Cream ( GWR) carriage on the M6 going east over Spaghetti junction.
It looked rather strange as the trailer it was on was not visible from my position underneath so it looked like it was part of the traffic !
The carriage looked like a composite of some kind as it had full windows at one end and a van type body at the other.
Regards, Colin.

The M6 is a great road for this, when i was on the road there always seemed to be a loco or carriage on a lorry parked at the Kidlington Lake services
