Nice bit of heavy weathering on that Barry. Looks the part.

Thanks Brian - with all that soot and steam I may have to decorate the room

Steady on Barry. Any thoughts of decorating should be countered by a long lie down.
Looks very good.

And a Happy Birthday from me Barry. Pity we can’t celebrate it next to the River Test.

I have started to install lighting and maybe passengers into a rake of three Maunsell coaches. In the latest YouTube video of Dean Park Model Railway (27/3) - Dave was installing lights into four coaches. So I have decided to give it a go using the same method, that is, using a LED light bar from Germany (good price on Ebay) and DCC Concepts axle power pick-ups - these are the ones that look like a spring around the axle - I think Steve M used them. I have previously used the DCC Concepts power pick-ups that touch the inside of the wheels on the same axle, but although not a serious problem, there does appear to be some drag with these contacts. For once, I have managed to get the coach body off of the chassis without breaking any of the corner clips. The two middle ones cracked, but I have already repaired those with superglue.

Are these battery lights or DCC?

The power will come directly from the track. I do have two light bars that I saw installed on a Hornby (Key Publishing) video - they had a DCC Decoder built-in, so you could turn the lights off and on, and individual compartments could be lit - but I could not understand the operating instructions - which had to be downloaded, so I gave up - I may have another look at them.
