Re: Painting and Weathering Service
Lovely, straight out of the Swindon workshop.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: Painting and Weathering Service
I have finally invested in a spray booth for the shed. Rather than buy one readymade, I decided to build a slightly larger version. I’d seen a YouTube clip of one built from a cardboard box but for mine I chose 9mm ply.
It’s built around a Sparmax filter mounted on an inner panel but behind that is an enclosure with sloping inner panels to channel the airflow to a central mounting for the pipework. This incorporates an inexpensive bathroom extractor fan and 100mm plastic piping.
After a coat of paint (which took three days to dry!!!) I added a strip of LEDs around the front edge of the front box and some plastic trim to tidy the front edge and direct the light inward. Finally, a bar has been added across the top to hang larger items from while drying.

And yes I had to remove the tubing to get the thing through the door.

Verys smart looking piece of kit, but you always say when I have a new loco, "it looks too pristine".........If you are itching to try it out, then I am sure I have a diesel somewhere that could benefit from your skills
Re: Painting and Weathering Service
Used it this week on the soon to be revealed shed roof. You can see it pulling the spray mist into the filter. It has to work hard when using rattle cans though.
I'm glad I included the hanging rail - it's way too cold for any meaningful spraying.
