bachmann 32-975, freightliner class 66

i hope im in the right topic area,i bought a Bachmann class 66,bachmann number 32-975,i bought it as a non runner,but hoping to get it going again,i have done the the 9volt battery test and sure enough,nothing,it is dc,all and I mean all wires are connected ,and none are broken,should I just send it away to get repaired or what gear would I need to test it properly?

Assuming it is DCC ready, try 9v applied directly to the motor terminals to check that bit is working. Then use a multimeter to check continuity from pickups to pub to motor to pinpoint where the failing is. And try a different blanking plate in the Dcc socket as they can fail.

thanks Seve,i did do the 9 volt battery test,i put the terminals on the wheels,and nothing,so sounds like I need a multimeter,thankyou for your reply,Also Steve pickups to pub,what is the pub,probably not the ones I know about!!!! and yes it is dcc ready,21 pin type.

If you have connected the battery direct to the motor as Steve stated and its dead there lies the problem, motor will need stripping and repairing.
