Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
Thanks David for your "twopence" worth - advice always happily received. I will add a few bits and pieces, which should improve the scene. Barry

Barry,
I think it looks great by picking up on Glencairn comment, I would lightly sprinkle some finely sieved garden soil, as I find this brings a more natural tone and creates patches where the grass appears perhaps to have not taken as well.
Just my 2 cents worth - cheers Richard

Have been sowing a bit more grass today. Will get the soil out tomorrow.

Barry, you need to think in reverse for bare patches. Put ‘soil’ down as a base layer, then add the static grass. Either ‘sow’ the grass sparingly or scratch some off when the glue dries.
This is my take on thin grass over soil.......

That is really good, Steve. Seeing what you see and not what you thought you saw.

I've pulled some of the grass off of the hillside - it did have a dark surface before the grass was applied. I will have a bit more of a play with it.

I think your grass looks realistic and perfect BB. And as everybody says, what looks righht is right.

Exquisite. My eyes are drawn into the scene of the retaining wall. If suggests a larger enterprise.
