Sorry TWD, I would have replied earlier but I’ve only just got home from Silverstone. Knackered and now facing just over 3000 photos to process over the weekend .

As WTD says I have the tester as recommended by FB when I was struggling to get the things to work. As you say, very useful to test each one works before going through the fitting process. Also helped me prove that it was my work that was faulty not the servos I bought to test with.
I have also built the MERG programming box which allows you to set the midpoint anywhere you want it as well as the start/finish and speed.

PS I’m encouraged that WTD was paying attention. :?

I am amazed at the amount of work you are doing to get your signals to work Steve. Very impressed.

Things like this rapidly become an obsession with me Brian (you may have noticed :D ). I guess it's a form of OCD.
I started by thinking I would just have a couple of Dapol starters.......!
Mind you, a few years ago I bought an OO Flying Scotsman and thought 'that would look good shuttling along a shelf'.
That shelf turned into Low Ghyll and 100+ locos. :o

Progress has been a little slow of late, yes there was the distraction of the British GP but mainly due to a bout of tonsillitis and a chest infection - not doing too well this year! :?

But I do finally have three working signals installed on the layout. Fiddly but relatively straightforward in the end.
From my original batch of servos I have one more to install under the other starter in the station. As the servos I ordered from China had not arrived I tried to contact the supplier - no answer. I contacted PayPal this morning expecting them to send a message as well. Instead they gave me an immediate and full refund.

Ordered replacements from Amazon for delivery tomorrow but embarrassingly the originals from China arrived 30 minutes later.

Ooops.

The signals towards the rear of the layout are a bit awkward to get to but I do now have six working signals but still plenty to finish off. I did have to rebuild all the control rods on the last bracket that I installed but that was relatively straightforward albeit fiddly. The next couple of signals will be made more difficult as they are on inclines meaning the baseboard has a sloped construction underneath the scenery - I may have to build a small level mounting platform to take the slope out of the equation.

Meanwhile, a spare servo and a bit of ingenuity and we have a moving crane for the goods shed. Tap the thumbnail for the short video.

Apparently Flickr have deemed this clip as too racy to view by mere mortals so I’ve added a youtube link on post #764
