Embankment stone walling
Embankment stone walling
Can you buy stone wall paper which is embossed instead of just flat paper. I have quite a lot to do and plastic sheets seem very expencive so hoping to find a paper product with a bit of depth. Any advice welcome.

Sandy, the only embossed papers I know of are made by Redutex - fantastic product, but ferociously expensive.
You might try Squires Models who sell 14”x9” builder sheets - much larger than the Peco/Ratio items. Their website is clunky and far from user friendly and although I found the sheets, I couldn’t find a price!
May be worth a look though.

Hi Sandy,
There is a guy on eBay ( from Greece actually) who sells stone effect sheets of what is effectively wallpaper…… very cost effective and easy to use.
I have used these to reasonable effect on my Montgreenan / Portencross layout for retaining walls etc……. The last time it was a curved wall, so I glued together foam underlay used for laminate floors and then covered this will stone effect wallpaper - see image below.
Hope this helps.

That looks pretty decent HD. Slightly 3D would you say? R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Hi Sandy,
Further to my earlier post, I managed to find the guy in my saved eBay sellers………. search for a seller called “Starboc1”

It is marketed as “Embossed paper”, which I think is a pretty accurate description…….. perfectly acceptable from a distance.

I just found the same guy by searching for embossed stone paper. Looks interesting.

Re: Embankment stone walling
Thank you everybody for your help. Have found the laddie on ebay and it looks good also nice large sheets. Can do a lot of walling with £25. Lot better than Ratio prices.

Rather nice embankment, and superlative photography. Adds a sense of drama and history. The age old conundrum of a railway overcoming topography. Reverend Farnsworth's excellent histories come to mind, immediately.
