I think I fogged the whole street! Never smoked in my life.

It’s a first run of a disco smoke machine (the glitter ball is in the post :D )

The machine has a remote switch which I can fix to the frame of the layout with the main gubbins underneath. The intention is to feed a burst of smoke into a manifold then pipe it under the board so to specific points on the layout.
Pipes etc on order but God only knows if it will work.

I blame WTD by the way. ;)

I think there was a distinct chill in the air watching that. I was with WTD when we saw the "piped smoke", and it did look realistic.

I am happy to take the blame Steve. It will be worth it.

Richard, I was thinking more along the lines of American Werewolf in London - “don’t go on the moors at night, stay on the road.”

I have my candidate for the sound effects if needed.

Plans for smoke have not worked out as planned (no surprise).
I have established that the machine heats the smoke fluid to a very high temperature then squirts the resulting vapour through a nozzle. The superheated vapour then condenses as any air it meets is cooler than the vapour. The trouble is that as soon as you put a pipe or tube on the nozzle, the vapour condenses in the tube so that little or no smoke comes out the end. And of course, as I wanted to use narrow diameter tubing, these very quickly fill with condensed water.
So it’s not going to be practical to route smoke to specific locations around the layout. However, I have fitted a larger diameter tube to the machine so I can give areas a quick squirt to photographic purpose.
I guess it’s a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Better get back to ‘proper’ modelling. :?

Hi Steve going back a bit I was taken by your fencing. I tried it but my old shaky hands mucked it up so I have to make do with some plastic fences I got on ebay instead. Such a shame your fences look fantastic.
