Naming your layout or station is personal to you, unless you are modelling a specific location.
I named mine after the road I live in - as you come from the North East you could call "Northeast Town". There are a number of companies that will produce station names in whatever you want and in the regional colours.

My layout/station is called "Wykeham" after Wykeham Drive. The main Waterloo to Bournemouth/Exeter line runs past the bottom of the road, and travelling from Waterloo I could hear the announcer saying "The next train to Southampton will call at Wimbledon,West Byfleet,Weybridge, Woking,Winchfield, Wykeham and Winchester". So lots of "W"'s. :o

Andy.........The area of the NorthEast I am familiar with is around Peterlee, Sedgefield and Hartlepool and of the villages inbetween I would choose Castle Eden Dean as a suggestion for your layout.....HB
