Well! DC it is then. A few years ago I picked up a pair of old Hornby (I think it was Hornby) all metal coaches. Not knowing any better I set them down upon the Club's DC tracks and promptly blew out the circuit breakers (no real damage) to the entire affair. That was my introduction to Hornby (?) AC.
I am grateful, no less, to be educated on the subject.

Still unable to locate any die cast Hornby OO structures. I swear I saw these things, they do exist, do they not??

Chops, the reason they blew and shorted was all Dublo 3 rail rolling stock has metal wheels. Immediate short on 00 track. Presume you are still thinking about a controller.

And all adds to the weight. Metal coaches, heavy loco``Hence my posts about well built decent controllers. Hornby Dublo original ones long since either condemned, or defunct. Hence Hammant and Morgan. Heavy metal boxes, made like tanks. Some of mine are over 30 years old, and as good as the day they were made.

As promised, tender photo and locomotive back head. So, this is DC?

As far as controller goes, I have a supply of 1 amp controllers about, so no worries, I hope. Question is before I fry it with the wrong juice, is this really DC? What does the Mehanno label tell us?

Chops, Dc,DC,Dc, certainly is. I have 22 of these locos, and we really do know. So you need a12 volt DC supply, and I don’t think you controller, will be man enough. Once your track sorted, let us know.

As others have said, definitely DC - the label is Meccano not Mehanno!

No wonder the Spell Check was going crazy. Everyday I learn.

The Mecccccccccano track posted in today. Looks every bit as good as the Marklin stuff, I had not realized it, too, had a roadbed. DC two rail, nothing I had ever dreamed of.

Anyways, no word on metal die cast OO structures? I know about the crossing gate, and I purchased a station and platform, I know there is a rather nice arch bridge circulating out there, but are there are any village type structures in die cast?

I think I may need to get bigger board, this circular effect will induce vertigo. Got lots of straights left. Then cover it with a simple green felt and add a few iconic structures, such as a thatched cottage. Cannot find anything in die cast, though I'd swear it exists.
