Rivarossi turntable

Thinking of changing my old Hornby turntable.
Seen this Rivarossi turntable for sale but know nothing about them.
Does any one have any experience of using one ?
Are they better in operation than the Hornby one ?

Can’t say much about it other than it is like comparing a Rolls Royce to an Astra, the Astra being Hornby.

I fear that unless you know otherwise I don't think it has been available and has not been made for quite some time.

This is probably one of the very best RTR turntables sold for OO/HO use. Not cheap but a great product.

Ta-Da! I did have a Rivarossi turntable on my old layout in London. I found it worked very well, if a bit noisy, as I recall. Its main drawback was that the outlet tracks were fixed, a group of eleven tracks to match their tapered roundhouse elements plus three opposite. As I had to cram my TT into the corner, I didn't have much scope for using these exit tracks, so they were left in mid-air, as it were.

IMHO if you're going for a new TT it must be the Fleischmann, not the cheapest but the best, no ifs and buts.

Having actually read the Heljan user's manual I must take back my dogmatic pronouncement about the Fleischmann turntable. It's clear that Heljan go one better than Fleischmann by allowing the outlet tracks to be set at any desired angle, rather than at fixed 7.5°intervals.

I don't think I would be prepared to spend that much money on a Turn-Table Even if it is like a rolls Royce, when I can buy quite nice Kits which are available at much more reasonable cost that normal people can afford. I would say that the cost of it is disgustingly excessive. John

I have a motorised Peco TT. Very nice and very quiet, you have to stop it manually at the required entry/exit.

I'm the same as WTD - the Peco T/T with a Locomotech motor is very quiet, and flat-out turns at 2rpm. Very easy to line up by eye. BB
