Christmas ZOOM get together.
Hi everyone
Some of you may recall that back in December 2020 we had a Zoom “get together” on the forum for a bit of fun – I recall we had nine members attend.
Following consent from Brian Lambert (Site Admin.) I am going to try and do it again this year.
The “get together” will be for you to introduce yourself, and perhaps wish everyone a Happy Christmas – unfortunately there will not be time to show your latest acquisition or your layout – my basic Zoom account only allows for up to one hundred people to participate for up to forty minutes. I know the forum has many hundreds of members, so it may be a case of “dipping in” and leaving after a short time, depending on how many attend.
The “Get together” will take place on Wednesday 21st December 2022 at 8.30pm.
I have placed the Zoom Link Invitation on the Forum earlier than originally intended. However it will not be live, in this post, until I make it so, a few minutes before 8.30pm.
Zoom Link Invitation:
Barry Clayton is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: My Meeting
Time: Dec 21, 2022 08:30 PM London
Join Zoom Meeting

Meeting ID: 716 3476 5743
Passcode: 1B1s56
You do not require a Zoom Account to take part, but some operating services may make it difficult/impossible to join in. You just click on the Link and the given time. Make sure your camera and microphone are “on” and not in “mute” and the volume on your equipment is turned on/up – there will be no time to sort out individual connection problems.
Once the Zoom Link is live, it is open for anyone to join in, wherever they are in the World. We had no problems last time, but should anything untoward occur, I will shut the link down immediately.
I must emphasise that this is supposed to be for a bit of fun and is not a MRF initiative.
I look forward to seeing you all on the 21st December 2022 at 8.30pm
Barry (aka BB/Bulleidboy)
PS: You will have to bring your own wine and mince pies.

Re: Christmas ZOOM get together.
Is there a dress code?
"Not very stable, but incredibly versatile."
Re: Christmas ZOOM get together.
Great idea, but sorry - prior engagement
And the Lord said unto John “Come forth and receive eternal life”, but John came fifth and won a toaster!
Re: Christmas ZOOM get together.
Thanks Barry - great idea and as one of the nine that participated last time around, I can concur that it was a bit of lighthearted fun and a great opportunity to put a face to the names.
Perhaps to keep it structured and to allow everyone their moment in the spotlight, it might be an idea to have say three topics for each to comment on, for example
1) CY 22 highlight ( railway or otherwise)
2) Plans for the holiday period ( railway or otherwise)
3) Railways plans or projects for CY23
Just a thought……. Thanks for taking the lead on this
Cheers - Richard

Re: Christmas ZOOM get together.
Sorry - so used to doing business budgets etc and having to differentiate between Calendar Year ( CY ) and Fiscal Year ( FY ) ….. just saying hello is also fine.
