I recall seeing this as a wee lad back in '66. Even as a child, it inspired a sense of awe. I printed it out at the local copy shop, because my printer is on the fritz, and the clerk was also awestruck at seeing the image, alone. The thing about the UK is that it is this endless wedding cake of dumbfounding history, prehistory, and paleontology. Reproduced here, as best as I could manage, it is now in the general vicinity of Henley.
Salt mines of Numidia is a reference to the Roman Age where convicts were sent to be worked to death mining salt in North Africa. Much like Devil's Island, just not as nice. Reduced to a visual pun, it serves to remind me to be grateful for what I have.
