You are such an imposter Steve M……. Here was us thinking you did all your weathering yourself when in fact you have tricked us and been getting Toni Ality to do it - LOL

I’ll close the door on my way out……

Richard you tease. Toni is too expensive for me. ;)

The "washes" arrived, but have not got the airbrush out yet. I have a couple of pieces of walling on which to experiment. The end of the Metcalfe walling had a staggered end, so I have three sections of walling which I will cut down, to hopefully give the same effect as before.

Barry I think the wall in the picture looks fine. Probably needs a touch of green here and there.

Thanks Brian. I highlighted the walling over the arches with a made-up grey paint. As Steve suggested, a quick once over the bottom half-inch with Sleeper Grime, and also Richards suggestion that the top of the inside of the arch would be very dirty. So a bit to do - almost nine feet :o

The new walling looks great, such lovely sharp detail.

I have added a little Sleeper Grime (by brush) along the bottom of the wall - not sure which one I prefer - more work to be done.

I like them both. I reckon the darker one is better if locos were stationary next to it and the light one nearer moving locos. Probably the darker one is the best choice. Add some buddleia to make it untidy.

A difficult one Brian. I too like them both, and thought that the wall closer to the town/shops might be a little cleaner than the wall next the shed?

The trouble is - they both work. But in different ways.
There is just a fraction more contrast in the lighter one which I think adds to the look. Possibly a tad darker may help? A bit of water staining and some weeds on the darker one would add to that one's appeal.
Your challenge now is to blend the two extremes together across the length of the wall. :D
