WEST ORTON
Re: WEST ORTON
New arrival - Great Central D11. A good offer from TMC, sound fitted with lots of little bits inc. etched nameplates to add tomorrow. The crew are currently in a mail sack in a corner of a Royal Mail sorting office (possibly).

Re: WEST ORTON
The 3D printed figures finally arrived. Finished painting this morning and added some real coal to the firemen’s shovels.

Re: WEST ORTON
A nice assortment of cab crew (Modelu or Hardys?). Good idea about coal on the shovel - obvious, but I've never seen it mentioned before.

Re: WEST ORTON
I always model the shovel either before it has been loaded with coal or after it has dispensed with its load

Barry, they are from Hardy’s - two of their multi-packs.
Brian is getting lazy in his dotage.
Did I mention that one driver has a moustache and two have tattoos on their arms.

One of them definitely needs to trim his nose hair.
I’ve never loaded the shovels with coal because it never occurred to me. Looks like I have to get busy. What a good idea Steve.

Re: WEST ORTON
Some more 3D printed bits arrived at the end of the week so some painting has been done ready to install on the layout.

And I needed an oxyacetylene gear that go with the light effect in the shed.

Then there are the ground signals.

Re: WEST ORTON
Not something that I should often seen at West Orton - freight. Mainly because a mixture of couplings made them awkward to run. But I have finally got round to converting them all to Hunt couplings although the locos and lead wagon have Kadees.

Re: WEST ORTON
The shed scenes are simply superb, lovely attention to detail great painting/weathering. The cameo on the buffers looks just so natural. Great modelling to aspire to, again
