Hello everyone

#1

Post by berkshirebugsy »

Although I am in the later years of my working life I have resurrected my interest in model railways which combines that with two other of my interest which are automation and electronics

So hopefully over the next few seasons I may be able to post some photos of my progress.

I already have my DCC decoder which I built myself using an Arduino controller board (and add on). This has cost me less than £40 which I am very pleased with.

My problem is getting hold of a cheap DCC loco so I can at least test this but that may have to wait for a month or two until pennies permit.

Take care everyone...I may be calling on your assistance sooner or later!

Welcome. Keep an eye on Ebay, especially listings that end on weekdays (daytime even better). There are some bargains out there to pick up from time to time. However, it's not a cheap hobby but most of us would say that we get a lot of pleasure from our investment. I hope you do too.

Thank you everyone for your welcomes.

This is a project that I'm taking slowly...I wouldn't be surprised if I don't lay any track for a couple of months.

A couple of years ago I acquired a baseboard with a trackmat graphic on the top of it (no track though) but it has been sat collecting dust behind a very old piano (also collecting dust) so in the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to give it a closer inspection to see if it is usable or not.

Watch this space!
