WEST ORTON
Re: WEST ORTON
In addition to the dummy signal wires, I have now installed wire and wire hangers along the embankment walls. I have a few left so I may add them to the front wall of one of the platforms but I’m undecided on that.

A little more detail in the engine shed - electrical conduit, plugs, switches and panels, plus a couple of fire extinguishers.

I’ve also been looking at adding a few discarded railchairs to the trackside but they are a pain to get hold of. The usual suppliers of DIY track only sell in bulk (understandably) at a fearsome price and no one seems to do a 3D print version. Will have to grub around the stalls at Ally Pally next month.

Why not cut the rail chairs off some spare sleepers.
Or these

Out of stock, Brian. And they are the wrong bolt pattern (anorak moment).Walkingthedog wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:35 am Why not cut the rail chairs off some spare sleepers.

I did try slicing sleepers on both Peco and Hornby track - they have a hole under the chair which prevents them coming off in one piece.
I think it’s strange that the 3D guys haven’t covered these yet as they are always seen in odd places around the railway.

Re: WEST ORTON
After I’d posted I remembered the holes under the chairs. Cut them off and stick them to very thin plasticard.
How can GWR style chairs be wrong, absolutely impossible

It’s all about the number of bolt holes.

Re: WEST ORTON
I know. You can always have the old rusty GWR ones in a pile because they changed them to the ones with the correct bolt holes

I’ll track some down eventually, although for a few moments I thought about buying a 3D printer to do my own. I soon came to my senses and realised my limited technical expertise with anything involving computers.

Re: WEST ORTON
Do none of the companies that supply bits to make your own track have them or do they only have packs of 500?
