Heavy snow in Revelstoke, Canada

We get the military stuff [usually about 10 feet off the ground] but as Rob says usually with transponders off, so can’t identify or track. Get Coastguard, Westlands [as was], electricity helicopters, Navy etc, but usually vert quiet. R-

Just watched 2 double headed diesels pulling 151 long coal wagons with a 3rd diesel after the 81st wagon and a fourth at the end. Remember seeing 6 locos, 3 at the front 2 in the middle and 1 at the rear, pulling 220 double deck container wagons when we crossed the Rockies from Vancouver.

Do you think this is one long train from the start, or do trains join up along the journey?
I don't know if you have tried it, but if you click on the "Change Camera" and look Norway (Finse) they also have some very serious snow.

Not sure about building the trains as they pass different yards, they do that with the road trains in Australia.

If they do there must be a huge amount of shunting in different yards to ensure something picked up in one yard can easily be dropped off in another. I know the full trains we saw in the Rockies were all making for the docks. They always had priority over passenger trains.

we dont get many military planes over Mansfield we did have a chinook the other day when i was was a kid in the village i lived in we got Provosts and Phantoms they were awesome too ,occasionally we got a Vulcan they were scary

We get Chinooks regularly during the day and night - we are only twelve miles from RAF Odiham - the home of the Chinook. We live on the west side of Basingstoke and there is only a "B" road behind us and then open fields - Chinooks will often fly below tree top level across these fields. We also get passenger jets that have been for service and MOT at Lasham (nine miles away) - usually on a Friday one will come across at about three thousand feet.

We also get buzzed daily, we have a training area a mile down the road, and the Helicopters and Chinooks come over from RAF Shawbury.

Heathrow inbounds if they’re on easterly’s, outbounds going north if they’re on westerly’s, Luton in and outbound, Northolt the same and stuff in and out of Brize Norton fairly high plus loads of light aircraft and helicopters. Apart from that, nothing.
