C D U or not

i am building a twin oval layout on an 8ftx4ft base there will be four sets of R8243 hornby surface points do i need to use a C D U or not thanks

CDUs are always a good item to aid the operation of a solenoid point motor.
However, there are issues with a CDU and the Hornby R044 Black passing contact point lever if these are being used? If you are using any other means of switching the points such as Peco PL26 levers, Non locking sprung to centre Off toggle switches or two momentary press to make push buttons or even Stud & Probe then the CDU will work as designed.

FWIW, I followed Brian's advice using Hornby point motors, with Peco switches, etc. All good thus far. Nice and straightforward.
