Class 33 N Dapol Stopped working

#1

Post by lardenr »

Hi,

I just obtained an N Gauge Dapol Class 33, 2D-001-000-PO06, Preowned Ran well on DC, which I tested over the last week. Today I decided to put the 6 pin decoder in, however the body was difficult to get off, The chassis came away first but then I managed to prize the body away carefully with a Credit card down the side. Anyway put the decoder in (6 Pin Hatton decode) and put on the programming track. It didnt move like it does when you usually program a chip. I put on the main track, and doesnt move, not even a sound from the motor, yet I can turn the lights on/off and the directional lights work, so the Decoder should be in fine. I put back to DC with the blanking plate back in the socket, and even that now doesnt run on DC. I'm going to have a look again tomorrow, but wonder if when it came away from the chassis , one of the connecting motor wires could have come loose. Does anyone think this could be the case? I have test the contacts on the pickups with a Voltmeter, with continueity test, and seems fine.

Could anyone suggest how to procede to check this please.

Thanks

A picture of the inside would be of great help.

Thanks. Opened the chassis this morning, and found this white cable disconnected!

So obviously this issue, just got to find out where it connects back to.

It should go to one of the solder pads on the back of what looks like the DCC socket. Follow the red to the general area.
