Thinking is dangerous Barry. I would suggest a cup of herbal tea and a lie down in a darkened room.

PS is there room for a sugarcube in the smokebox? Go on, you know you want to.

Work on Wykeham has been very quiet over the past few months. So yesterday I fitted a DCC Concepts Shuttle module to the branch line. This works in conjunction with the new Hornby TXS decoders (you have to change a couple of CV's). I have currently have an 8pin TXS sound decoder fitted into a Hornby Class 08 shunter - with the Shuttle module fitted the loco runs from one end of the layout to the other end and back, with a four minute stop at each end. You can use one module for both ends, although the wiring terminals are very small for two wires to be attached. Very easily fitted - Jenny Kirk has a couple of YouTube videos on setting them up. I now need to get a decoder into an M7 tank loco

I think that you need to remove one of the tank weights to get a decoder into an M7. I was just about able to fit a Zimo MX633 into the space formerly occupied by the tank weight in an M7.

That's right James - I recall it says to remove the left-hand weight. I have had a look inside, but I need to clear the work bench - it's all a bit of a tip at the moment.
The M7 is a nice loco, I also have a couple of Kernow 02's and a selection of carriages - several(!) Hornby Pull/Push sets, a BR Crimson Maunsell Rebuilt (Ex-LSWR 48’) set and a couple of Kernow LSWR Gate stock sets (BR Crimson and BR Green) - so plenty to choose from. :)

Goodness me - that is quite the collection! Local stopping service in the vicinity of Wykeham will not fail for want of rolling stock!

A little out of place at Wykeham :o However it was a good deal as a Hornby Collector Club member - it is a Limited Edition of 500.
