Timber wagons

#1

Post by Brober1628 »

Can anyone tell me if there is a manufacturer that produces OO guage wagons that were/ are used to transport felled logs to the sawmill? I assume they would be of a similar style to that used for road transport.

Not a popular way of transporting timber in the UK, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland- ... s-54117185. Dapol do make these https://www.dapol.co.uk/collections/wag ... 1637648607 which were used for moving rails, you could easily adapt for timber.

In OO Bachmann did (or still do?) produce a Bogie Bolster wagon https://lordandbutler.com/bachmann-33-8 ... 8653-p.asp
A Timber load is also sold https://tencommandmentsmodels.co.uk/pro ... bolster-c/

Thank you all. I will investigate the options. BTW rail transport is being promoted now as a move to reduce lorry movements (and hence carbon reduction).
