New Layout - Patrick County Railways

#1

Post by PBoland »

My old layout in the garden shed of 15 years is no more. January this year I fitted a stairs to the loft and dismantled my old layout, salvaging most of it to be reused. Since then huge progress has been made and I will post pictures over the next few weeks. Again my layout is 'Pure Fiction' and not for the purists, I run what I like and enjoy all of it, especially building it. I run American, Irish and British in no order, just for the joy of it.

Access to the loft....

Don’t forget to cut some slots or drill some holes in the frame for wires before putting the top on.
Will certainly be strong.

Looking good - nice "old" loft - lots of open space - no cross trusses every couple of feet.

Yep, done well with the ‘old’ loft space, just the one cross purlin with plenty of space each side.
First test run of outer loop with my Amtrak set, then second loop.

Broke the layout into 2 sections. Section 1 - The main loops, stations and towns. Section 2 - Fiddle Yard/Storage sidings etc. the whole layout is DC and the points are all now electrified with the trusted studs to operate.

Section 1
