Phishing scam

#1

Post by Steve M »

I’ve seen plenty of phishing attempts over the years but today’s was a new one for me.

Email supposedly from TVLicensing claiming my quarterly DD hasn’t been paid and gave me a link to ‘renew my licence. (I didn’t click it :D )
Checked my account and yes it has been paid.
Back to the email, clicked the originators name and found a vaping company address sitting behind it.
Reported to TVLicensing.

Plus,it would appear that at least one is a front for a scam trying to get your bank details. Which is even more disgusting.

might be worth pointing out that even tho the from address looked to be from Vaping Co... its rather unlikely they actually sent it... it's either just been spoofed, or they have an infected pc sending out spam.
