Re: Mulled Wine
Used to make it from scratch every year. I spent a lot of time sticking lots of cloves inro whole oranges! Then I discovered Lidl Gluhwein which is as good as anything you can make. Just pimp it up a bit with some fresh fruit and it takes some beating. Most of the other supermarket offerings are just too sweet and usually light on alcohol content.
Re: Mulled Wine
Thought i might try and make some for Christmas used to watch my aunt make it and watched when homemade Christmas pudings and cakes were made
Re: Mulled Wine
Tried a glass once - err no, definitely not to my taste. Goes into the same spittoon as Mead.

Re: Mulled Wine
Only time I really enjoyed it was at a freezing cold Christmas market in Frankfurt. Warmed me up.
Nurse, the screens!

Re: Mulled Wine
Very many years ago, some bright spark suggested we have Mulled Wine instead of Champagne Cocktails at the office Christmas Party. It was prepared in the office kitchen -and the whole building reeked of cloves for weeks - we never had it again.
