First cut of the year!

#1

Post by bulleidboy »

I have had the mower serviced, so I thought I had better try it out. So first cut of the year, not too wet and it came up quite well. I only took the top off - nothing to drastic. It certainly looks tidier.

Coincidentally, I cut our lawn today as well. Also trimmed my bush while the sun was shining.

What mower do you have Barry?. Walked on mine today, still very wet, and needs moss scarifying. Hoping to try at weekend.

My grass is definitely overdue for a cut.

Woman across the road from me cut her lawn in January. She always seems to be gardening when she's not sunbathing.

Hi John - it's a 2008 Mountfield Rotary with a roller - I think it has a 16" cut. I bought it new and it always starts first pull of the cord - I run it on Shell Premium  The service man told me how old it was - I just knew I had had it for years.

i have just serviced my John Deere. New petrol filter, Air filter, oil filter, and blades. This is my workhorse. Have 4wheel drive twin Husqvarna Rider, for lawns, as it has to cut round trees, and other obstacles. Hate to think what we spend a year on petrol. but they look nice when cut. I am with Brian on condition of surface. Simply soaking.
