Four Bridges

This is not my first layout. I have over the past few years built 2 N gauge layouts and an OO gauge one too. All since sold on to other people.

When I bought the current house in September 2017, it had with it, a rather large barn which although in need of work to finish it off, had the potential to become a good size workshop and/or model railway room. The building is 30ft long x 20ft wide and built from a steel frame, breeze block walls and a metal apex roof. I started the works in October 2017, was completed around April 2018 and involved:

1. Installing new electrics; 8 double power sockets and 4 banks of double strip lights.
2. New concrete floor was laid including a DPC.
3. Painted the inside walls with white emulsion.
3. Completely clad the outer skin of the building with 5" x 1" timber boards.
4. Made a new access door.
5. Installed an 8kw log burner.
6. Clad the underside of the metal roof with the same timber as the outer skin in order to stop condensation dripping into the space below.

One half of the building is now a workshop with 4 x 6ft x 2ft timber workbenches and the other half is where the model railway happens !

Some photos attached of "before and after". I can only seem to upload 3 photos, not sure why.

The end of the building with the layout. Work in progress obviously.

The track is all down, tested and problems eliminated. I've installed several 3 aspect sensor signals with mimic switches, supplied by DC Express and will also fit a couple of ground position or shunt signals.

The layout is DCC and I'm building my own control panel.

Gaugemaster PM2 Point motors (15 of them) were fitted to each point last week in readiness of wiring up. I did have a diagram showing an easy to follow method of wiring but for the life of me, now cannot find it so if anyone has a easy to follow wiring guide, please do share. The point motors will be powered through a CDU.

Rolling stock purchased since June 2018 is:

Hornby Class 47 with sound
Bachmann Class 66 x 2 with sound
Heljan Class 47 no sound
Heljan Class 33 no sound (but being converted for me by Mark's Trains)
Bachmann Class 150 with sound
Bachmann Class 37 with sound
Heljan Class 128 with sound

I thought there was a 3 picture limit so I kept adding them on my post and got to eight. Think I could have added more but didn’t have any.

Forum limit was set to 3 per post as a default. I've upped that to four and see how we go. ;)

How have I managed 8 FB. Is it because they are on Flickr using Bbcode?

It is indeed a conundrum. I have messaged FB as well as there is a concern about the amount of data the forum can store, and I don't know if the images you have just posted now reside on the forum or not. :?: I suspect so, but we will need FB to confirm.

However the BB code system incorporated into Flickr is a much easier system to use rather than entering the codes manually.

If there are too many I am happy to remove some, or all.

If you tap the pictures they take you to Flickr so I guess they are on there.

Hosting here of images is set to a maximum of four per post.
inserting URLs to off forum hosted images has no limit, as all that is needed is the URL per image. There is no limit to URLs per post as the file size is not hosted here.

Thank you FB.

Andy I apologise as I hijacked your post. Layout looking good. You have some excellent space for it. More pictures please.
