Early Autumn/Cold Winter

I don't know whether this is a sign from Mother Nature, but the leaves are coming off our lime trees at a tremendous rate, which is a lot earlier than usual. We have three trees that are about one hundred feet high and make up an avenue of Limes, probably planted hundreds of years ago - my neighbour has five and they continue on the other side of the road that is at the back of my garden. When they normally come down, it's a two trips to the local tip a week job, just to get rid of the leaves.

Yes BB Autumn is very early here too, we are harvesting leaves already, unheard of in august.

Strange we were remarking only this morning that the leaves on the trees here are still very green and hardly one has been shed. No sign of autumn at all.
Having said that we have an avenue of 90 lime trees we planted in the fields for the Queens 90th birthday and they are turning a lovely rust colour.

I must admit I've noticed it aswell as I have found leaves ( also in brown ) aswell as pears which have been dropping off my other half's dad's pear tree, at least 4 of them dropped off it in 1 day.

It's certainly a sign that our weather patterns are out of whack but even if the worldwide usage of fossil fuels and other activities which have caused us to be caught in a greenhouse effect, according to climatologists it would take between 50 & 150 years ( possibly more ) to begin the atmospheric repair process, problem is most of us wouldn't be around by then to feel the effects of a climate that should be cooler than it currently is.

I would just like to add that I am not a climate expert by any means and that the time period stated above is based on information I heard on a programme about our climate.

Seems ok here as yet. Leaves still on tress but it has been warm.

Many, many leaves fell this morning - I had the hedge trimmer out.

We have mostly Limes at the side of our road and I commented to my wife a few days ago that the leaves were coming down early this year. We haven't had a lot of rain so that might be a factor.
