South West Digital have retired
I have many loco's sound decoders fitted with SWD sounds, whilst I understand SWD retiring there is no announcement on the Rapido website.

Rapido are a minnow and I do not believe they will promote the brand effectively.

I'd not heard of them either.
Maybe this will clarify the situation:

Correct.

While I understand the benefits of DCC, at this time I don't feel these outweigh the disadvantages it would present for me.

DCC sound (Along with DCC) is very much a personal choice. Some love it! Others hate it!
I tried DCC sound and I liked it but when visiting exhibition halls with many sound locos on the go I found it overwealming! Put me off sound as did the cost! :D

Back to the thread...

Rapido. Don't they make quality 00 locos?
Budget modelling in 0-16.5...
