The other day I decided to hinge my lift out/crawl under section so bought a couple of narrow hinges and much to my relief it works a treat. Just need to camouflage the hinges now.

I’d thought about hinging the section but I’ve made it impossible as one section; the upper tracks incline from left to right, lower tracks incline right to left, each pair of tracks would have to be hinged independently and as far as I can work out on opposite sides. At the moment it’s in the too hard to do drawer, so my knees take the battering.

Standing alone it reminded me of Mrs Wilberforce’s in The Ladykillers, line at the foot of the garden and lines out of KX behind, then again maybe not

The latest edition to the loco stud simmers on the quayside waiting for the next fish train to form up.

Saw it yesterday, just too good to walk past and at a bargain price to boot.

Rather than hinged, why not simply a 'lift out' section... you can then pick up the whole lot, walk past, turn round, and put the whole lot down in place again... much better for your knees!

I could also envision a rope and pulley to help with the lifting...
