Strange deal this Steve, sold it to a guy in 2019, its never been out of the box not even displayed, he now wants to go to N gauge, so im doing him a good deal with a load of locos for one OO loco.

I just received this ... I just liked its slightly quirky looks so found a nice used one .

Of course now I have to shoehorn a sound decoder and speaker in .... but I have a cunning plan involving an Oxford Southern Sound fitted version I picked up for a just little over the cost of a sound decoder. If they can fit one in theirs, I am sure I can shoehorn it into the Hornby one somehow 😄

I believe the front pony truck should have pick-ups on both wheel pairs on the Hornby, mine only seems to work from ones closest to the driving wheels, so another thing to investigate while I am checking its is wired  to the 8 pin socket correctly !

I recently purchased these 3 coaches by Poacher.

Two are identically numbered, and the other (middle) is a mail carrier.

Mostly ready to run, but I do want to renumber them, and also change the couplings to something NEM compatible... possibly knuckle style.

Looking for some coaches for the Adams radial above, the SR Bulleid brake vans @ £17 each were a bargain, just need a composite or 2 now !
At that price I felt they were worth it as a rolling chassis or spares on the ones I don't use.

Hi Everyone

Long time since I last posted on this thread and Ihope you're all well.

My recent purchases have included GWR 22XX white metal loco body with tender ( also white metal ), only the loco body is in use at the moment.

Other purchases include 2 hornby diesel chassis ( 1 × Class 37 and 1 × Class 47 chassis which was advertised as a class 37 chassis ), 2 × GWR 94XX tank locomotives ( 1 Lima & 1 Kitbuilt ), Hornby class 58 renumbered from 58001 to 58051 as I already have a body numbered 58001 which just needs a full chassis to run again. I want to point out that I am well aware there was never a 58051 but it was renumbered as my own way to remember my 51st year of life.

More purchased have included 2 × Blue & Grey 2 coach class 117s, 1 powered unit and the other is completely unpowered aswell as a Blue & Grey centre coach for 1 of the units.

Since the introduction of the X03 & X04 replacement motors from peters spares, I have purchased around 15 of them which have completely transformed the performance of the locos they have been fitted to. The most recent conversions with these motors are a hornby GWR 4-6-0 formerly Hagley Hall which was fitted with an X03 replacement motor and an Ivatt 2-6-2 tank locomotive ( which I repainted as the paint was badly faded and renumbered from 82004 to 82013 ) was fitted with an X04 replacement motor.

Today I picked up the 1st of 2 class 08 shunters which wil be fitted with the X04 replacement motors ( currently on order ), the other class 08 is due in a few days time.

I also have a tender drive A3 loco chassis and a tender for the loco drive A3s on order. Like my other tender driven steam locos, this will also be fitted with a replacement axle for an X04 gear and an X04 replacement motor will be fitted to make it a loco drive.

Currently I do not have photos of the above mentioned purchases but I will get them done in due course and post them once I have them available.

I hope you like them, the 22XX body is yet to be painted but with a few projects on the table at the moment, it's a case of who knows when they will be finally finished.

A SH buy turned up today, seller did mention the missing tender "shutter" thingie. I will see if I can fabricate a replacement from some thin plastic.

But the main job, as its an early one (I could not find the newer release version), is to see if I can fit an HM7k chip in the body ... I am feeling optimistic , but haven't opened her up yet 😄

Just something about this ugly duckling that I liked, and I needed (wanted) a SR Goods loco !

I think it’s a great looking engine. Function over fashion. Well done. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.
