Thinking about that. May have to make a false insulated panel that attaches to the door, else just blow the winter fuel allowance.
Got a bit of scenic mending to do as cardboard doesn't travel too well. It will all sort itself out in slow time.

Winter fuel Allowance! Whats that?? Oh I remeber now from the last few years!
I had up and over doors on my garage before replacing them with electric roller doors. Then I used 9mm sheets of OSB board in a sort of slot in at the top and 50mm insualtion between door and inner face of the OSB Edges of the OSB were fitted with 15mm pipe insulation to make a sort of draft proof seal. It was Really effective and cosy plus it coud be removed to allow the up and over door to open if need be!
This shows a section of the OSB inner face and pipe insulation draft proofing...

That looks like a viable method Brian. It may need some deeper planning as the layout is close to the door restricting access to get at the door when its shut to fit those panels.

That is providing me with hope! I have got the keys to my new (to me) bungalow and intend the double garage to house my layout. The track was lifted completely so it is a blank canvas to start again.

Go for the layout you always wanted. Having a great space to work in is such an advantage, versus trying to wring every bit of use out of a tight corner.
