I am far from an expert, but GWR coaches with an LNER loco just doesn't sound right to me.
I know they pooled resources during the war so its possible I guess, and as always Rule 1 can apply

In my mind, some LMS 57ft staniers would been more likely have been used as a pooled resource ?

So I've done a little bit of reading and apparently for a short period of time during the wartime years some GWR coaches were painted a reddish brown with an orange stripe, I found a few pictures for reference online, this could be an option as this fits into my time frame.

Cheers, Lee.

I wonder if these coaches could be a candidate for a repaint in reddish brown to represent that period in wartime as shown in the pictures from my post above :?:

Every day is a school day, I stand corrected (again) :)
Excellent resource @walkingthedog.

I would love to see the finished repaints when you have done them @OOLee (loco and coaches),

I've decided that along with flying scotsman I'm going to repaint a gwr hall class into wartime black also, I've bought the pictured set of carriages to accompany the locos and they will be painted wartime reddish brown in due course 👍

Cheers, Lee.
