Hi im Kit and I'm so happy to be a member of the forum. My interest in railway modelling is the building of wagon kits which I get alot of enjoyment from.
I'm looking forward to being involved in some of the discussions.

Hello. I like kits but prefer making my own experimental scratchbuilds... Nothing elaborate. Just fun little 7mm narrow gauge scratchbuilds.

When I was into 00 I tended to mostly stick to ready made items. I think what scared me away from kits and scratchbuilding was that I could not really get my things to match the factory made standards. I also have big hands but I think it is more to do with the fine motor control between brain and hands which means I learned to adopt a different approach... Why turning to 7mm narrow gauge has been a Godsend, because I can make things which are somewhat crude, but they look consistent, so the overall effect looks good. Before I took on this approach, most of what I made in 00 sort of stood out against the lovely ready made models. I admire those who can build things up to the same standards.

I think the finest thing I have ever managed to achieve is paint eyes with slightly cross eyed pupils on a 7mm scale person. Only did the one! The other figures I have don't have painted eyes. Made my eyes squirm while painting him! :D

Sorry. Forgot to say. Welcome!
