Lighting accessories for platforms etc

#1

Post by Newby »

I am not in a position for these at the present time but I am looking ahead.

Five years or so ago I had a small layout with lights, I still have some of the lights (From Kytes Lights).

When I included lights on station platforms in the past, I used the items in the image below for quick add and release of them should the board need lifting at any stage.

Can anyone guide me, what are they called? Where can I buy more?

Thanks in advance

There are many types of connector you could use, just search for JST connector

They look like two-way JST plug and socket. There are several sizes in the JST range 1.25mm. 2.0mm (PH) and 2.5mm (XH) Probably more sizes too?
Kytes sell the 1.25mm type https://kyteslights.com/product/5-pairs ... ires-80mm/

Thank you Brian

They will have come from Kytes Lights in the past, I glanced on there yesterday, maybe I should have looked properly

Strips of header pins/sockets are much cheaper. If using copper tape as your lighting bus then solder the socket to the tape and the pins part to your lights. Tape can be topside the board and painted over if not hidden by platforms or buildings.
