Yes my son got a real bargain on a Bosch fridge/freezer at John Lewis. :)

You should subscribe to the different retailerss, I’ve had lots of emails from Hattons, Rail etc.

I would have bought loco from London Transport Museum, as price great, and i opened email immediately received, only to find that despite advert, they had NO stock. Very easy to reduce price of items, not in stock. Makes one wonder how many, they had.

Thats the old Currys trick. They only have one or two available at one shop and advertise it at silly cheap price. Of course there is no chance of getting one........................John

It was a bargain, but there is an old joke about a grocer who was competing with Sainsburys and kept advertising baocon down to 10 pence a pound. Finally when they asked for a truce, having lost so much money, he pointed out, he had sold the only 3 lbs he had, within the first 10 mins.

It is called Marketing John. The remarkable thing is, the public fall for it over and over again.

Not really he was in the right place at the right time. Got there early. Bought a washing machine, tumble drier and 2 ovens as well.

He was probably one of the lucky ones.. Some has to get the real reduction. how it works is , they put the price up high for a short time ( don't remember how long it is by law they have to, but you get my drift) Then they reduce it by what appears to be a fantastic saving.. I know, I used to work for them. When I did, it disgusted me how they worked. I felt like I was conning the customers. I worked for them for a while and then joined the Fire Service where I felt I was helping people instead of ripping off people. Get off me soap box now.. Got out of the rat race as they say. Was much more satisfying.........John
