Hello from France !

#1

Post by Raboliot »

Hello,
thanks for adding me as a new member of this great community. I always love 00 gauge layouts. I have a lot of small Hornby steam locos and rolling stock but I don't have a real layout yet (not even a small one). Someday, I'll build a small one. When ? Only God knows...
See you soon. Kind regards,
Christian

Yes. Did have a Mamod loco myself once and also had a traction engine and a trailer which went very well. The steam loco hardly ran until I fixed it just before I sold it. Bought it as a kit and it leaked steam almost everywhere with the kits rubber seals. Soldered them instead and it worked! So I discovered it was best to buy them ready made, though I never bought any track. Only had so much to spend so it was a decision to go for N, 00 or SM32, as back then I tried all three. (Already had lots of 00).
Since then I have had H0e (009), and then instead (As I found it much easier) 0-16.5 which I now model in. Basically it is on 00 track gauge width, but in the larger 0 scale. Easier to model in if one likes making ones own things from scratch or budget kits.
