Re: Sales
What a miserable lot you are
There are many bargains to be had. Not every retailer is out there to fleece you. I have bought lots of bargains in the past and consider myself and my son bright enough to know when something is at a genuine reduced price, and not had the price increased for a few weeks so it looks good.

Re: Sales
No John, not lucky at all, he went to get the stuff in the sale and got it, no luck involved. Believe it or not the shops aren’t out there to get you, they are there to sell you things you want. It’s not a raffle.

Re: Sales
Ha ha, bet they put all their prices up to £1-25 last week to make it look good today.

Re: Sales
Great result, but in their case they had the stock, which i suspect my advertiser did not.

Re: Sales
Doesn’t an item in a sale have to have been advertised at it’s original price for the last forty days, before the “sale” price is shown?
Re: Sales
BB that was my understanding, of old, but apparently firms now buy stuff in especially for sales. Not reputable shops, like Next, lewis,s, but some whose names, mean nothing to me. Used to be Heathers yearly trip, to first day of next sale, as full price, the day before.

Re: Sales
BB, it used to be referred to as the '28 day rule' but it was scrapped in 2017. There is no 'rule' now rather a set of guidelines for courts to use in the event of a dispute. And apparently what constitutes a fair sale or interpretation of those guidelines can only be determined in court.
I prefer to work on the premise that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and if you are happy with a given price then it is a good deal.
