Re: Bachmann motor.
Mike,
Might be able to work something out using the 2 outer bits and joinging with a square section, maybe.
Thanks for the image.

Hi Aussie 3 Railer
My apologies for the delay in replying. Since July last year I have purchased 5 Bachmann locomotives ( all of which had suffered split axles ). I also purchased several sets of replacement axles from Peter's Spares and successfully repaired, however, luck was not on my side 2 weeks ago when oddly enough, 1 of the new replacement axles split resulting in me having to open another set of axles to replace 1 out of 3 or so I thought.
I found that 1 of the others had split and the gear axle was starting to split so in the end all 3 axles were replaced for a 2nd time but I believe it was an isolated case as the loco concerned is a frequent runner so I can only say it was to be expected eventually.
As for the motor for your loco, Bachmann do the standard 3 pole motor but I have to admit that I would imagine that a 5 pole replacement could be available for your loco but unfortunately I don't know which motor would be the best replacement.

Couple of photos seem to have got lost in cyber space. Now its been suggested and I have looked really close you can see the three has been added at a later date maybe. What would be the reasoning for that.
I seem to have forgot this engine was made in China.

Its a 6112 Sherwood Forester that has been renumbered and renamed. Thanks Mike. Wonder what the reasoning was behind doing that. Maybe the Royal Scott is more collectable. Gone to a lot of trouble though doing the run change and the name plate.

Got an email back from Bachmann saying they couldn't identify it. No wonder. Also went to the trouble of sending a service sheet. No complaints about that service.

Quiet common, people want a specific loco that is not actually produced.Aussie 3 railer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 9:10 pm Thanks Mike. Wonder what the reasoning was behind doing that. Maybe the Royal Scott is more collectable. Gone to a lot of trouble though doing the run change and the name plate.

I changed the name and number on quite a few of my locos. One reason being if you managed to obtain say two GWR King George V one needs to be changed.Aussie 3 railer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 9:10 pm Thanks Mike. Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I can see why someone would want the change now. I already have a brace of Princess's so might look at changes myself down the track.

Just on the wheel arrangement on this engine. Do you do anything special about the axle shaft fit to the split nylon bushes do you glue them in or just push fit. The rearmost is probably my main worry as the nylon sections are only held together with a rubber ring. I watched 00 Bills video on his repair and he mentioned if it failed he would use epoxy on it.
