I would attempt to repair it as one learns a lot doing these types of modeling jobs. If it doesn't work, it is just time & it is a hobby anyway

Peco medium radius point about £10.50. (Track Shack) I would not call that expensive at all. It is a very well made point which works well for years, and made from good quality materials. A lot cheaper than spending ages trying to repair an old broken one. Something I have never been successful at. It always ended in the bin in the end. ...............John

Oooh. Never bin them. Plenty of uses. :D It is things like that that I have used to make my track. Actually two old Peco set track points (One had lost quite a few sleepers and was in a state) and the other points and diamond crossing I built from old code 100 rails. I still need to make a little adjustment here and there when I spend more time with them. Almost there! I will say though that cutting sleepers for 0-16.5 use is much easier then making them for 00 gauge.
I once suggested that a modeller could make his own points on another site. He gave it a go. I was absolutley amazed with it work as when I suggested it I forgot he was modelling in N gauge. He not only made points but single slip formations and things like that. It was so professionally done that no one would have guessed that it was his first attempt! He normally scratchbuilds little N gauge locos.
Budget modelling in 0-16.5...
