The platform edges are made by Greenwood Laser Designs. The track was laid first and I'll cut balsa to size for the platforms themselves so essentially "made to measure".

Just had a look at their site. They have some nice stuff there.

This week I am finishing off the other half of the workshop roof underside and cladding it with 5" x 1" boards. Each board is 114" long and screwed to the roof joists.

Subject to how harsh the winter becomes, I may lag the gaps between the boards and the steel roof sheets for added insulation but I suspect it won't be necessary.

One half is already finished https://www.flickr.com/photos/16113522@ ... 412493020/

Finished the roof work so now I can spend more time on the layout itself and get some progress made :D

Made a start on wiring in the platform lights as well as lights for the 3 signal boxes, buildings etc. I want to get this out of the way first before I start any scenic work and ballasting. I'm not convinced the platform lights are the right size so have ordered some others for comparison. The ones I have look too big.

Having said the above I seem to have got myself into a pickle with the wiring. I have the platform and signal box lights working on one switch but when I wire up a building light in the same way, it doesn't work. The light itself works as I have tested it.

Does anyone have a simple "how to" wiring diagram for 12v lights ?

Are they LEDs. They only work in one direction. Positive and negative have to be the correct way round.

They are not LED's. Grain of wheat bulbs are used throughout, or will be.
