Annual trip to Catalunya
Annual trip to Catalunya
Some of you will know from the old forum that I have a springtime habit of visiting Barcelona or Jerez for F1 pre-season testing.
I half expected not to be going this year, but my resolve has weakened and I booked my tickets this morning - I think this will be my 14th visit since 2008.

Steve we used to take a Ferry to Santander and drive to La Coruna. Had family there. What wonderful drive with lovely views. Took all day. Bonus was the English lager louts did not go to the north. A real Spanish Holiday........John

Interesting Ferry crossing, this time of year, Santander. Very good test for your sea legs. Lovely in calm weather.

Not been as far west as that but I have spent a couple of days around Santander and Bilbao - very nice part of the world.footplate1947 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 2:06 pm Steve we used to take a Ferry to Santander and drive to La Coruna. Good point about the 'lager louts', at this time of year there aren't too many tourists around the Costa Brava, just the locals doing local things. Jerez and Seville are even better.

Enjoy - Lewis for his 6th World Championship? I've just put all the F1 dates on the calendar.
Re: Annual trip to Catalunya
I can vouch for that - had a few where sitting upright was a challenge! (or was that the beer ).
I'm heading for the return journey now - Santander to Portsmouth on Saturday evening/Sunday. Hopefully it will be a smooth crossing - we've not had many rough ones.

We had a bad crossing one year going through the Bay of Biscay was horrendous. I noticed while 90% of the adults were looking ill. All the kids seemed to be having a wonderful time. So was I holding a beer at the bar. Never been sea sick in my life. .........John
