Hornby DC R965 controller

Post by GWR »

I have a Hornby R965 controller which I use to run my locos. I’m planning on adding a yard lamp post to my plank layout. Can I use the accessory terminal for a yard lamp.

Technically Yes. Practically No, as you're robbing the power available to the track! These are not by any means great controllers and its by far the best option to run all accessories from a totally separate power source - for lighting I would look for a 12 volt DC Regulated power supply. Sold often new for around £5 or more on ebay. Look for one that offers a minimum of 1.0Amp (1000 milliamp) output.
