Just out of interest, what is the square thing just above the steam pipe on the double chimney version?

I believe it is something to do with the lubrication system. Probably wrong.

It is a form of Mechanical Lubricator I think.So far as I'm aware not many locos had it.

I'm not a GW fan so I'm going no further down this road. The poster who said he didn't know of any locos except GW - get in touch, I'll start a nightclass for you. Wide subject - enormous fees!!!! :geek:

To my totally unbiased LNER eye :lol:, it has too few wheels, the wrong shaped fire box and is painted the wrong shade of green.

However, the single chimney is least bad.🤣
