Hi all,
I've just joined your forum after recently re-kindling my love of model railways. As a child we (my dad) had an oo gauge layout with a flying Scotsman running on a simple loop. Thirty odd years later and I'm keen to build a dcc layout, probably set in the early 60's, so I can justify running a deltic and an ageing A4 Pacific. Technology has not stood still since 1982 so I'm sure I will ask many foolish questions.....thanks to all for your patience!

Hi Rodent - welcome to the forum. Don't worry about asking "daft" questions - the daftest one is the one you didn't ask. Ask away and we'll do our best. R-

Re: Hello everyone
Hello welcome to our forum. You certainly have a nice space to work with. First thing is to get a plan in your head and when you are happy with it get some tracks down. I would start with laying the mainline and build up the layout over time. Advantage of that will be you will be able to get something running while you are adding sidings stations ect and build up the railway over time. Get all the levels, bridges inclines and banks sorted before starting on the scenic work. Seems you have a lot of fun ahead putting it all together. I expect you have all your own ideas on how the build will go so all the best with the building and have fun.
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John

Re: Hello everyone
Hi there and welcome . That sounds like a nice space to start and as you say may be able to add to it later. I have little to no knowledge of railways but that will not put me off. I learn a lot from just reading the mail . I hope you enjoy it here .
