Have to agree a beautiful picture. It shows the divide between south and north as far as weather is concerned. Flood warnings out up here!!!!

Absolutely baking here today.

How far North are you, is it further than Luton?

Same here today - except the ladybirds seemed to be in millions. I know they do good in the garden, but I almost gave up working outside, they kept going down my shirt, landing on my glasses etc. My lawn has been looking a mess since the hot summer, so I've raked it twice and cut it so low I've scalped it - have now spread thirty bags of topsoil and re-seeded the whole lot. I'm either going to end up with a great lawn or a very muddy patch. Forecast is for rain tomorrow, so will not have to water. We had the landscapers in today planning our next project - new top and bottom of the garden patio's and possibly a new pond - they will start work next June.

thank heaven, we have not improved our lawn. Electricity board due any day to lift Main cable from where it currently lays, right across lawn. My meter box, is now in veggie patch, and cable, a foot above the pond. It was all caught up and dragged off the poles by neighbouring farmer, with his Hedgecutter, 4 weeks ago. He could not leave machine, till power cut off. Cost of new Cabling, 29000, Euros. and massive machines will be across my lawn, and fields, any day. All quite an event.

Deep joy at the upheaval John.
Round here they change the aluminium 3-phase cables on the poles every 3 years. Fortunately our side of the street has underground cabling from a separate sub station that only feeds our housing complex.
