Your latest acquisition
Re: Your latest acquisition
You would think they were next of kin buying me such an item, but no. They are only a relative through marriage, yet every year I receive a railway item (or two) from them. 'The Rocket' is by far the best (and I believe most expensive,) I have received from them.

Re: Your latest acquisition
Looks good. Does it go well? Is it a Triang version or a later Hornby version?

Re: Your latest acquisition
It's a later one and is a dream to run.

Re: Your latest acquisition
My latest arrival is a fleet of 5 0-4-0's and a 0-6-0 from Ebay
I'm happy with the price as they were 'for repair or spares' and in every case the motor runs.
One needed a screw tightening. One will go back on sale on Ebay as it is an old Lima with the 'wrong' type of coupling and I don't wish to change it. I should get more than 1/6 of the price I paid plus postage so will be happy.
For anyone interested it is the 'Southern' one, bottom right 4572. It is missing it's boiler front door.

Re: Your latest acquisition
Somebody must take great delight taking boiler doors off. I got this one also off Ebay.
After a length of time I finally 'butchered' an old loco body and fitted a 'new' boiler door. Just a repaint job to Leeds, Scarcroft & Wetherby Rlwy colours.

Hi John - I suppose they have - I don't actually buy many - although I would like a set (3) of crimson Bachman Birdcage coaches.
