I heard he wanted to 'pop round' to our house for afternoon tea.

 We told him we were going on holiday.

It's interesting that "nothing" has been heard from the other driver. Then again your insurance company always tell you to say nothing other than exchanging insurance details - so you don't say sorry or apologise. I'm not judging anyone, but it has all been a bit one sided.

The Duke sent a message to the other party saying sorry and he did not see the other car because of the low sun.
I can see his point, as it is easy to be blinded by the low afternoon sun at this time of year. Only the other day I was driving towards some body on a country lane and I pulled over to the verge because I could not see because of the low sun in my eyes. The wet lane ahead seemed to be on fire.
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John

The person who broke their wrist was the passenger - and there is no suggestion he was not wearing his seat belt when this accident took place. I am surprised that a Kia could turn over a Land Rover Discovery. It will be interesting if the press ever get to see/hear what the camera in the car and the one in the security car that was behind the DoE's car recorded.
