I lived in Norfolk then and we didn’t have any good Polish plumbers so had to pay local boys high prices for poor work. Give me cheap reliable EU tradesmen over UK anyday.

We are very lucky regards tradesmen, we have 2 houses we rent out plus our own so we always have small jobs requiring attention.
We have an excellent team made up of Joiners, Plumbers, Electricians, Tiler, Roofers and a Painter, they all work together on jobs, it does not matter which one you call they pass on the message to who is required.
We never have to wait more than a few hours before we get a response. Last week we had a problem with a broken slate on one of the houses, I rang the roofer and he said he would look at it, 1 day later i got a phone call from him to say he had got a new slate and it would be fixed within the hour- cost £70. That is good service.

I was talking south Wales,, Where are you.You did not say. Unless things have changed about 20 years ago you could tradesmen not in West Glamorgan where we were as they were rare as Hens teeth. The only way to get things done was to put up with poor work or do it yourself. Had a builder recomended to lay a front path and it was taken up twice because the building would not pass it. Third attempt worked but they used ready mix for third time. Lovley people in South Wales but awful trademen. Will do it now in a minute. That ment any time in next few weeks..
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John
