Agreed.
We must maintain standards here, a simple thank you rather than something better suited to Facebook or twitter. :D

You know more than I as I never go in social media like facebook ,,,Twitter and the like I think they are dangerous places places to go. I tried Face book because few years ago because friends from my old job said they go on there and keep in touch. But I think it was like a nut house. No thanks I like my life to be private and not share it with the world. That seemed to be what every body did all the time...............John

A like button would mean I can say I like it, without creating a post to say that, making threads that that are mostly people saying they like it. If that makes sense.

I personally think a quick & easy thanks to each member that posted via a button & just 1 reply to all with a single posting is a lot quicker & you have then acknowledged every individual. I have made a post on some forums where many have replied & felt a bit rude when i haven't got back to everyone that posted. A quick thanks button would solve this without creating another post.

Such a icon is not readily available for phpBB and will not therefore be provided.

The link in post #19 immediately initiated a McAfee warning and if its ignored (I'll take the risk) then the NG site requires a log in name and password!

Over use of smilies or other icons in posts will result in there removal by the forum moderators.
